Studio Policy
- What can I expect from lessons?
Weekly private lessons in a positive and encouraging environment.
Curriculum tailored to each student’s goals.
Focus on proper technique, sight reading, ear training, and theory.
Instruction follows MTAC Certificate of Merit standards. - Students are encouraged (but not required) to:
Improvise and compose
Perform in recitals
Participate in competitions and Certificate of Merit - How often are lessons?
Tuition provides weekly lessons year-round.
Lesson durations:
Beginners – 30 minutes
Intermediate – 45 minutes
Advanced – 60 minutes
Students preparing for competitions or Certificate of Merit may require extended lessons.
Annual calendar (holidays and breaks) will be published on the website.
Students continuing in the Summer Session keep priority in the fall schedule. - Do you offer online lessons?
Yes, via Zoom.
In-person is preferred.
Setup guidance provided for device, external mic, and camera. - What should I do before arriving?
Arrive on time with books and music.
Trim fingernails and wash hands.
Parents may stay to observe or return at lesson end.
If a student is disruptive, disrespectful, or consistently unprepared:
The lesson may end early.
Continued issues may result in termination. - Attendance & Commitment
Enrollment reserves a weekly lesson time for year-round study.
Consistent attendance and practice are essential.
Students may withdraw with two weeks’ notice.
Tuition already paid is non-refundable.
Summer session students maintain priority in the fall schedule. - Missed Lessons
No credits or make-ups for student absences (illness, travel, scheduling conflicts).
Tuition reserves a fixed weekly time.
If the instructor misses a lesson (outside holidays):
A tuition credit is applied to the next invoice.
Schedule change requests are considered but not guaranteed. - Tuition & Payment
30 minutes – $225/month
45 minutes – $350/month
60 minutes – $450/month
Tuition is billed automatically on the 1st of each month through Stripe.
Families are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file (can be updated anytime via Stripe portal).
📌 Lessons may be suspended or terminated if payment is not received within 7 days.
📌 Tuition is non-refundable once processed. - Home Practice
Students need:
An acoustic or fully weighted 88-key digital piano with pedal, stand, and bench.
A quiet, distraction-free practice space.
Lesson books, sheet music, and a metronome (physical or app).
Daily practice expectations set at the initial lesson. - Taking a Break
Provide two weeks’ notice if discontinuing lessons.
You are not obligated to complete the remaining sessions in that month.
No credits or refunds for unused lessons.
