- Certificate of Merit – Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC)
A statewide program recognizing student progress in performance, theory, ear training, and technique. Students prepare a repertoire and take a written exam, earning certificates and performance opportunities.
- Southern California Junior Bach Festival
An annual event for students to perform works by J.S. Bach and receive feedback from experienced adjudicators.
- MTAC Composers Today
A unique program for students interested in creating and sharing their own music, with opportunities for feedback, workshops, and having original works performed at MTAC events.
Competitions & Festivals
Students have the chance to perform in local recitals, festivals, and competitions throughout San Diego and Southern California, gaining confidence and stage experience. A list of events can be found here at the San Diego MTAC Branch website.
